$ 5.27

Availability: 100 in stock

Description

Vintage collectible demitasse spoon (4 1/2 inches long) commemorating the Battle of Manila in
1898.   Has an image of the Flagship Olympia in the center of the spoon and an image of Commodore Dewey on the handle.  On the back is engraved "Compliments of The Old Grist Mill".  This might have come from the Old Grist Mill Tavern in Seekonk, Rhode Island but I'm not sure because there are quite a few Grist Mills in the US.
(The one in Seekonk was destroyed by fire in 2012.
Spoon is in nice condition for the age and has not been cleaned.
