Description
Rare very first issue of Hep Cat's Review magazine, Vol. 1, No. 1 from
February 1956. Loads of wonderful photos, many of which I have not seen elsewhere. Also an article on legendary rock and roll DJ Alan Freed, and a handful of blurbs on other rock and roll artists, such as the Moonglow, LaVern Baker, Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers, etc. But this issue is dedicated to Elvis, with stories about his starring in Love Me Tender, his television appearances, live performances, recording, home life and family, and so on. This is one of the best of early Elvis 'zines and a top copy. There is a touch of shelfwear on the cover, mainly a little wrinkling at the spine from being read, and a number written over Elvis' head, which has been rubbed off a little; not bad. Otherwise this is a great copy, with no edgewear, corner dings, flaking, ripping, fading, or chipping. All the pages are crisp and clean throughout and the whole thing is just beautiful.
