    Gibson Chainsaw Protector Hardshell Guitar Case
    Early 1980s Generation 3 with Black Plush Interior
    This is the case that vintage Les Paul aficionados want -- it's the collectible Protector Case (a.k.a. Chainsaw case).  This one is very desirable because it doesn't have the early plastic latches and hinges that warp and break.
    Full disclosure: Two latches were missing when I got this case, but I replaced them with much better ones (see photos) and they work great.  This is a sturdy beast that will live up to its name and protect your guitar.  If you have a 1960s, '70s or '80s Gibson and it's in a junky case or gig bag, this is a huge upgrade.
    I've started with a low opening bid for quick sale (need the bucks).  It doesn't reflect the quality of the case at all.
