    Description

    Here we have an Prehistoric Mimbres San Francisco Mountain Gray Ware. It is in good condition there is a piece missing from the bottom of the pot and a chip in the rim, also has been broken in to four pieces and glued back together.  There has not been any restoration done to it other than the glueing it back together. It measures 3 1/4" tall x 6 1/2" across. There are a three tags on it one inside and two on the outside and the number 1012 written on it. Please look at all the photos they are a very important part of the description. San Francisco Mountain Gray Ware is the pottery ware made by the Cohonina.  The primary distribution of this ware is around the San Francisco Mountains, north to the Grand Canyon, and west to the Big Sandy River.
    San Francisco Mountain Gray Ware was first recognized and described by Colton and Hargrave (1937).
