    Description

Offered here is a Navajo first phase style
    concho
belt for your consideration. The story behind the belt was that it was purchased by a man who worked on the Hoover Dam Project in the early 1930s. He bought it off a Navajo man while there (making it that old, or older). His grandson inherited it and then eventually sold it to a well-know Arizona dealer who relayed the story when subsequently sold. The collector who bought the belt is who brought it to us and there is paperwork that comes with the belt supporting the story. As far as the belt goes, it has large silver
    conchos
(hand hammered ingot) with leather backing and they are on a fine leather belt. The
    conchos
have hand stamped designs and cutouts, typical of a genuine first phase belt. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a Navajo first phase style
    concho
belt and know most of its history!
    MAKER: Unmarked.
APPROX AGE: We know it was made no later than circa 1930, possibly many years earlier.
SIZE: Overall length is 42 inches long.
    Conchos
measure 4-3/4 inches wide X 3-3/4 inches tall.
Buckle measures 3-7/8 inches wide X 2-7/8 inches tall. Weighs 875.8 grams.
CONDITION: Good for its age, some wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
This is an awesome belt that would go perfect in your collection and it will look super on!
Remember, we take returns for 30 days (just in case you are not satisfied in any way). We stand behind what we sell and want you to be happy!
